The Sovereignty of God

By A.W. Pink
Chapter One: The Sovereignty of God and the Present Day
Page 17

-Because God is holy His anger burns against sin; because God is righteous His judgements fall upon those who rebel against Him; because God is faithful the solemn threatenings of His Word are fulfilled; because God is omnipotent none can successfully resist Him, still less overthrow His counsel; and because God is omniscient no problem can master Him and no difficulty baffle His wisdom.

Chapter Two: The Sovereignty of God Defined
Page 23

-The sovereignty of the God of Scripture is absolute, irresistable, infinite. When we say that God is sovereign, we affirm His right to govern the universe, which He has made for His own glory, just as He pleases. We affirm that His right is the right of the Potter over the clay, viz: that He may mould that clay into whatsoever form He chooses, fashioning out of the same lump one vessel unto honour and another unto dishonour. We affirm that He is under no rule or law outside His own will and nature, that God is a law unto Himself, and that He is under no obligation to give an account of His matters to any.

Amazing Grace

-Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound...........
-It's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.
-It's a great thing to fall into the hands of sovereign grace.
-We are worthy of being slain.
-The thoughts of our hearts were only evil continually.
-We are no better than the sinners that murder, rape, or don't love the Lord their God with everything they are at all times.
-Romans 3- There is none righteous, no not one!
-No one seeks after God.
-We are swift to shed blood.
-We are all guilty before God.

NOW WHATS THE GOOD NEWS?

-Now through Christ we have a righteousness!
-It is not based upon the Law!
-BASED UPON GOD'S GRACE
-Made clean by God's grace.
-As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us!
-We can now approach His thrown boldly.
-Not based AT ALL on us, THROUGH CHRIST ALONE!!!!
-While we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
-All the glory goes to God!
-He made us who were dead in trespasses and sins alive IN CHRIST!!!
-By grace we have been saved
-God's grace is sooo sweeet.
-Grace is always free.
-Where sin abounds, grace abounds much more!
-He remembers our sin no more.
-His strength is made perfect in our weakness!
-His grace is eternal!

These are notes from a sermon by Pastor Kevin Otsuji called "Sovereign Grace" It was so amazing the way God revealed to me how much guilt we can hold onto when we sin, but that in itslef is a sin because holding onto the guilt of any little or big sin is saying that the death of Christ on the cross was not sufficient to cover your sins. Remember God is ALWAYS good!

One Year!!!

Praise God!!!! On this Sunday we will have been together for exactly a year!!! It has been one crazy, fun, exciting, unbelievable, God glorifying year! It was exactly one year ago Sunday that me and Danny were at my old house (at Melissa & Brian's) when Melissa asked us "So are you guys like official?" it was a tad akward but awesome, and we looked at eachother and said YES!!!! Man o man...looking back on this year, it has definitely been the best year ever. So much has happened, Danny's parents moved to Colorado, my sister has gone to Iraq and came back, I went to Africa, Danny became a youth leader, WE GOT ENGAGED!!! SOoooo much more than that toooo!! God has shown us so much this passed year, he has matured us into more of an image of Him, and is teaching us (and will always be) about how to be a godly wife and husband. Later I will post pictures of different events of the past year!!!

A Wedding Centered Upon The Rock

So our biggest prayer is that our wedding would glorify God. Everything about it. The message, the flowers, the guests, the cake, us.... EVERYTHING. God is our Maker, our Creator of everything. We are so happy that He has blessed us with himself. A lot of people have asked us if we are stressed or nervous, and honestly, yes there are some little things that might not go right, but we aren't stressed and if we are nervous, it is nervous-excited like we can't wait! God is handling every intimate detail, as He sees fit! Which is extremely comforting! We have some prayer requests:
  • For Christ to be glorified
  • For our family not to stress out as the big day nears
  • That we would trust in God's promises
  • That our wedding day would be really fun
  • That everything would go smoothly
  • That God would comfort us when it starts hitting us that we are moving away & when we do move

We are so excited to move to Colorado, but of course it is going to be hard to move away from our lives and family and friends here. So pray for that tooo!!!

The Secret Place & Our Weekend!

So it is finally finished!!!! For Danny's birthday this is what I got him. Its his final tattoo! =) He has four now.

This one is an angel with the armor of God. Its Ephesians 6:10-22. He is going back in a couple weeks to get "Ephesians 6:10-22 tattooed on the bottom under the angel's feet. YAY!! Happy Birthday Danny! SO that what we did saturday in the day time, I went out to breakfast with my best friend Vanessa in the morning and then Saturday night Danny took me on a date to Olive Garden then we went and saw Spiderman 3. It was soooooo goood!!! And I actually stayed awake! Oh yeah Friday I went to a Leeland concert with some of the girls from the college group which was awesome. They have some really awesome songs. And then on sunday we went to church and Danny helped out with the Sunday school and then we went to lunch and went back to my house and hung out then went and had dinner with Derick, Carrie, and the girls, and then for our pre-marital counseling this week we went with them seperately, it was an awesome time and God was glorified! The wedding is getting so close and we are so excited! The plans are really coming together and God is doing soooo much!

Lots of Planning!

Planning for the wedding has been tons of fun! Its a lot of work but its very exciting. Most of everything is done, except for some little stuff. Our wedding site, The Garden Room is really pretty, its a wedding chapel and a reception area in Garden Grove, not tooo far, which will be nice to have it all in one place! They provide the catering, cake, flowers for the reception, and some other awesome stuff! So that makes it easier. My bridesmaid and maid of honors are some of my best friends in the world. My Maid of Honors are my sister Erin (she is just coming back from Iraq in the Army as we speak! Praise God!!!) My best friend and bud Vanessa Vanden-Bosch. My bridesmaids are, Shery Ingles has been my friend since 7th grade, Megan Tracy who I have grown up in youth group with and i absolutely love her! And Alex Conner, the best cousin in the world! Well she will be my cousin as soon as me and Danny are married. She is Danny's cousin and has become such a blessing in my life. Kendall Price was supposed to be in the wedding but something got in the way, its ok though i love her and she will be at all the showers and bachelorette parties! Dannys Best Men and Groomsmen are - Best men: Dave his older brother and Andrew his younger brother. (We are excited to hear their speeches....hahah o man) His grooms men are all good friends of his from high school and now- Jason Stanwood, Pat Wynott, and Evan Cox. All the girls have their dresses and all the guys have their tuxes! We have a little ways to go and God has totally been the center of the planning which is what we prayed for. We are so excited about the wedding because there will be a lot of my family and Danny's that are not believers and our wedding is gonna centered around Christ and the Gospel. Its so rad that He has brought together all theese people to hear His word! Continue to pray for us! We would really appreciate it, and pray that Christ stays the center of our lives during this crazy and exciting time!

Weekend

So this past weekend we had TONS going on! Saturday we left at 7:00 am (right after Danny got off work) and drove to the most beautiful, and extremely hot ( it got to 107) Palm Springs!!!! The drive was nice, Danny just slept and I drove, the 91 was pretty sucky though, it took us 45 minutes to get 3 miles at one point then, it was all clear and we flew the rest of the way! Danny's grandpa and his friend live up there and were putting on a "Faith Festival" with all the churches in the area and "Rallys for Christ" with music and food and games and stuff it was pretty fun. After a little while we went down to Downtown Palm Springs to walk around here are some pics.
Then we left around 3:30 and went to my house and had dinner then went to the bon fire for the youth group! That was a blast, there were sooo many kids there which was a huge blessing. So Saturday was an exciting day, and then on Sunday we had church in the morning with an incredible message as usual. Then we went and walked around Laguna Beach which was nice. So the weekend was great!
